The short version: we collect only what we need to tell you when PAXO launches and to work out where to launch first. We don't sell your information, we don't share it with advertisers, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing privacy@paxoride.com.
1 Who we are
This policy covers paxoride.com, operated by Paxo Technologies LLC ("PAXO", "we", "us"). PAXO is building a zero-commission rideshare platform intended to launch in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, pending approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
2 What this policy covers
This policy applies to information you give us through the waitlist forms on this website, and to the text messages we send to numbers provided here or in the PAXO mobile apps. When the apps launch publicly, we'll publish a separate, fuller privacy policy covering ride data, location, and payments.
3 What we collect
We collect only what you type into the waitlist form. Nothing more.

What we deliberately don't collect: driver's license numbers or expiry dates, insurance policy numbers or expiry dates, vehicle identification, bank or payment details, or government IDs. Those are only requested during real onboarding inside the app — after launch, and after regulatory approval. There's no reason to hold that data about people who aren't yet users.
Our hosting provider also records standard technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of your visit. This is used for security and to keep the site running — not to build a profile of you.
4 Why we collect it
- To contact you about the launch — the main reason. We'll email you when PAXO opens in your area.
- To decide where to launch first — your neighborhood and driving area tell us where demand is.
- To plan driver supply — knowing when riders expect to travel helps us have drivers available at the right times.
- To give you what we promised — founding driver priority, or founding rider credit.
- To prevent spam and abuse — filtering out automated or fraudulent submissions.
We won't use your information for any purpose unrelated to the PAXO launch without asking you first.
5 Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We use a small number of service providers to run this website, who process data on our behalf:
- Netlify — hosts this website and stores waitlist form submissions.
- Resend — sends the confirmation email after you join.
- Twilio — delivers the text messages described in section 12.
- Namecheap — provides our domain name.
We may also disclose information if legally required — for example, in response to a valid court order, or a lawful request from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission or another regulator.
6 How long we keep it
We keep waitlist information until the earliest of: PAXO launching and you becoming a user (at which point your account information is governed by our full app privacy policy); you asking us to delete it; or 24 months from the date you signed up. If PAXO does not launch, we'll delete all waitlist data within 90 days of that decision.
7 Your choices and rights
- Ask what we hold — request a copy of the information we have about you.
- Correct it — tell us if anything is wrong and we'll fix it.
- Delete it — ask us to remove you from the waitlist entirely.
- Stop hearing from us — unsubscribe at any time; just reply to any email we send.
Email privacy@paxoride.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You don't need to give a reason.
8 Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may set essential cookies required for the site to function and to protect against spam.
9 How we protect your information
The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to waitlist data is limited to people at PAXO who need it. No system is perfectly secure — which is one of the reasons we ask for as little as possible at this stage.
10 Children
PAXO is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we'll delete it.
11 Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant — for example, if we start using your information for a new purpose — we'll email everyone on the waitlist before it takes effect.
12 Text messages
What we send. If you give us your mobile number — on this website or in the PAXO mobile apps — we may text you a one-time passcode to verify your number and sign you in, and updates about a ride you have requested. We do not send marketing texts.
How you opt in. You opt in by entering your own mobile number, either in the PAXO app or on our waitlist form. We never message numbers bought from a list or obtained from anyone else.
We do not share your mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is shared only with our messaging provider, Twilio, and only to deliver the messages described above.
Stopping messages. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Frequency depends on your activity — a passcode is sent only when you ask to sign in.
