Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect what we need to create your account, verify your phone number, and run a ride, and, if you join the waitlist, what we need to tell you when PAXO launches and to work out where to launch first. We use your mobile number to send you a one-time sign-in code, and to text you about the waitlist and the launch only if you tick the optional text-message box on the waitlist form. We don't sell your information, we don't share your mobile information for marketing, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing privacy@paxoride.com.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the PAXO rider and driver mobile apps and this website, operated by Paxo Technologies LLC ("PAXO", "we", "us", "our"), based in Pittsburgh, PA. PAXO is building a rideshare platform intended to launch in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, pending approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to information you give us through the PAXO mobile apps during their current pre-launch testing phase, to the information you give us through the waitlist forms on this website, to the text messages we send to numbers provided here or in the apps, and to this website. When the service launches publicly we will publish a fuller policy covering ride data, location and payments in operation.
It replaces the two earlier policies the website carried — one for the mobile apps dated 28 July 2026 and one for the founding waitlist dated 21 July 2026.
3. What we collect
During testing, we collect only what you provide when creating and using your account:
- All users — your name, email address and mobile phone number.
- Drivers — the profile and verification details needed to establish that you may drive: driver's licence, vehicle registration, state inspection, proof of insurance, a profile photo, and the results of a criminal background check and a driving history check.
- Riders — your name and email address for your account profile.
We also process the one-time verification codes used to sign you in. Our service providers record standard technical information — device and connection data, IP address, the time of a request — needed to operate and secure the apps and this website.
Payment cards. Card details are collected and held by our payment processor. PAXO does not store your card number.
This website collects nothing about you except what you type into the waitlist forms or the contact form (your name, email address, chosen topic and message) and what our hosting provider logs to keep the site up. There is no advertising or tracking on it.
The waitlist
For the waitlist we collect only what you type into the form. Nothing more.

What we deliberately don't collect: driver's license numbers or expiry dates, insurance policy numbers or expiry dates, vehicle identification, bank or payment details, or government IDs. Those are only requested during real onboarding inside the app — after launch, and after regulatory approval. There's no reason to hold that data about people who aren't yet users.
4. Why we collect it
- To create your account and let you sign in.
- To verify your mobile number by sending a one-time passcode.
- To match riders with drivers, run a trip, and charge the fare that was quoted.
- To establish that a driver is eligible to drive, and to re-check that over time.
- To contact you about the launch — the main reason for the waitlist. We'll email you when PAXO opens in your area, and we'll text you about it too if you ticked the text-message box (section 5).
- To decide where to launch first and to plan driver supply — your neighborhood, driving area and when you expect to travel tell us where and when demand is.
- To give you what we promised — founding driver priority, or founding rider credit.
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To protect against spam, fraud and misuse.
We won't use your information for a purpose unrelated to operating PAXO without asking you first.
5. Text messages (SMS)
What we send. In the PAXO mobile apps we text you a one-time passcode to verify your number and sign you in, and updates about a ride you have requested. On the waitlist, if you opt in as described below, we text you about your waitlist signup and about the PAXO launch. We do not send marketing or promotional texts beyond those: no offers, no messages about anything else, and nothing on behalf of anyone else.
How you opt in. In the app, you opt in by entering your own mobile number and tapping the sign-in button. On the waitlist form, you opt in by ticking a separate box, which is optional and starts unticked:

Joining the waitlist does not require that box. The form also asks for your mobile number, but we do not text you about the waitlist or the launch unless you ticked the box. You can stop at any time by replying STOP to a text, or by emailing privacy@paxoride.com. We never message numbers bought from a list or obtained from anyone else.
We do not share your mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time. Your number is shared only with our messaging provider, Twilio, and only to deliver the messages described above.
Rates and frequency. Message and data rates may apply. Frequency varies: a passcode is sent only when you request to sign in, and waitlist and launch texts are sent only if you opted in, when there is news about your signup or the launch. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. For help you can also contact hello@paxoride.com. The full detail is on our SMS opt-in page.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

We may disclose information if legally required — for example in response to a valid court order, or a lawful request from a regulator such as the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
7. How long we keep it
During testing we keep your account information until you ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for testing. When PAXO launches and you become a user, your information is governed by the full policy published at launch.
Waitlist information is kept until the earliest of: PAXO launching and you becoming a user (at which point your account information is governed by our full app privacy policy); you asking us to delete it; or 24 months from the date you signed up. If PAXO does not launch, we'll delete all waitlist data within 90 days of that decision.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access — request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correct — tell us if anything is wrong and we'll fix it.
- Delete — ask us to remove your account and data, or to remove you from the waitlist entirely.
- Stop hearing from us — reply STOP to a text, or unsubscribe from email.
Email privacy@paxoride.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You don't need to give a reason.
9. Cookies and analytics
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and by default it loads no third-party scripts at all. Our hosting provider may set essential cookies required for the site to function and to protect against spam. If we ever add analytics it will be a cookieless, first-party measurement tool, and this section will name it before it goes live.
10. How we protect your information
Connections to our services use encryption in transit, and waitlist and contact form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Access to waitlist data is limited to people at PAXO who need it. Sign-in is by one-time passcode rather than a stored password. Access to account data is limited to people at PAXO who need it, and our operator console is not reachable from the public internet. No system is perfectly secure, which is one reason we collect as little as possible at this stage.
11. Children
PAXO is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, email us and we'll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We are actively developing PAXO, so this policy will be updated as the product evolves and before launch. If we change it, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant — for example, if we start using your information for a new purpose — we'll make reasonable efforts to notify users, and we'll email everyone on the waitlist, before it takes effect.
