For drivers

Keep the fare. Pay for the day, not the trip.

PAXO does not take a slice of each trip you complete. Instead, a day you go online costs a $25.00 Day Pass, and a day you do not drive costs nothing. Whatever you earn on top of that pass is yours.

The Day Pass, explained properly

What it is

  • $25.00 for one calendar day. Buying it is what makes you eligible to receive trip offers that day.
  • Charged once per day you drive. Fifteen trips or one trip, the pass costs the same.
  • Auto-renewal is off unless you turn it on. With it off you buy the pass yourself before going online.
  • If a renewal payment fails you are told in the app and by email, and you stop receiving new offers immediately.
  • A failed pass never interrupts a trip you are already on. That trip completes and you are paid for it normally.

What it is not

  • It is not a per-trip commission. PAXO does not take a percentage of the fares you complete.
  • It is not a monthly subscription you pay whether you drive or not. No driving, no charge.
  • It is not a deduction from your tips. Tips are charged separately from the fare and go to you in full.
  • It is not exposure to rider refunds. When PAXO refunds a rider, PAXO absorbs it — it is never taken back out of what you earned.

The fare itself is computed centrally from published constants; see how the fare is calculated.

Signing up

  1. Install PAXO Driver The driver app is a separate listing from the rider app because it uses location in the background while you are online.
  2. Verify your phone number A one-time passcode arrives by text — the same sign-in as the rider app.
  3. Complete the checklist Upload the four documents, take a profile photo, and consent to the background and driving history checks. Each item shows its own status while it is reviewed.
  4. Wait for approval Your profile moves from draft to submitted to under review to approved. You can watch each item move independently rather than staring at one opaque status.
  5. Buy a Day Pass and go online Approval makes you eligible; the pass makes you eligible today.

What verification requires

Seven items. Four you upload, one you take in the app, two we run. Nothing here is a surprise later — this is the same checklist the app shows you.

Verification is ongoing, not a one-time gate. Documents and checks have expiry dates. When one lapses you stop being eligible to go online until it is replaced, and the app tells you which item it is rather than leaving you to guess. Replacing a vehicle works the same way: the new vehicle goes through verification while your current one stays active.

Before you make plans around this

PAXO has not launched. We are preparing to operate in Pennsylvania pending approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission, and we cannot promise when or whether that approval will be granted. Please do not buy a vehicle or leave a job in anticipation of a launch date we do not have.
